Why does AmeriCorps celebrate Days of Service?
AmeriCorps participates in days of service to bring Americans together to improve their communities, honor national days of remembrance, address urgent local needs, boost member morale, and encourage ongoing volunteerism. These events unite people in meaningful, hands-on action that reflects AmeriCorps’ core mission to “get things done for America.”

9/11 Day of Remembrance
September 11 is observed as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Earth Day of Service is an event that encourages individuals to engage in volunteer activities to promote environmental awareness and stewardship.

MLK Jr. Day
Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a national event that encourages Americans to honor Dr. King's legacy through community service and volunteerism.

Juneteenth
Juneteenth Day of Service is a way to honor the legacy of freedom by engaging in community service and civic action on June 19th.
